About

What is Qi Gong?

A cultivation of life force energy.

Qi gong is the Chinese ancient way of cultivating life force energy through practicing different routines or disciplines.  The traditional way of practicing Qi Gong is for longevity, health, and spiritual growth.

Qi is pronounced “chee”, and Gong, pronounced “Kung”  is a practice, exercise or method.
“Qi” is the mandarin way of pronouncing energy. “Chi 氣” is the Cantonese way.
Qi gong is a mindful breathing meditation with gentle movements. It increases our life force and is the base of herbal medicines, tai chi martial arts, acupuncture and feng shui. We are actually Qi.

Many people will next ask if Tai Chi is the same as Chi Gong (Qi Gong). Tai Chi 太極 is not the same as QiGong 氣功.  They don’t even write the same way in Chinese language.  Tai Chi is a kind of Kung Fu. Qigong, Chi Gong is the real healer.  Here is our Blog on “The difference between tai chi and qi gong.”
